I just come back from another journey into the mountains working with young ones. My heart intention has been and is to hold a space for them to stay connected with their gifts & to nurture them. Gifts that go beyond or lie outside the physical/intellectual realm that mainstream education and parenting focusses on. Gifts that often remain unseen, unacknowledged. And children show all sort of symptoms to raise awareness for this imbalance: autism, depression, suicide, in general: behavioural and mental "dysfunctions" that show us: something needs to be addressed, something is not in balance. We need those gifts in my view, to survive as a species. And there are so many children who are amazingly "switched on" & connected - up to us to support them.
I have always been a "world bridger" between the currently predominant social world and its systems and the "spirit world", trying to initiate change and "system updates" as I go. Being a child myself that grew up in an environment that hasn't been receptive to those gifts has taught me understanding and compassion of the current "normal/formal" (thanks for the term, Makareta) world. I was suicidal as a teenager, I suffered from depression, eating disorders and had (undiagnosed) what you could call mental health issues. I grew up in a family of teachers who loved teaching and were entirely focussed on physical and intellectual education - which gave me an understanding and compassion for this perspective. And I was blessed with non-human and human teachers who supported and mentored me on my journey to guide me to where I am today, to strengthen and nurture my "other side" and to confirm a vital part of my being. I might not be here in physical form otherwise. This is why I am doing what I am doing.
As people grow more open and receptive, I was guided to write the book Power Tools for Power Kids, as an introduction and basic manual for parents, teachers and young ones alike - to get started. To strengthen and nurture those gifts that often go unacknowledged and undeveloped in Western societies. To give confirmation to young ones and grow their confidence in themselves.
I deeply believe that we can do our bit to restore the balance we humans tipped so dramatically and support sustainable ways of living on this planet by re-membering and re-activating our innate connection with the life energy that flows through all beings, physical and non-physical.
